Selecting the best of New York City’s arts scene
This week we’re looking at some museums in New Jersey. What? You didn’t know they had some great art in New Jersey? Just because they don’t brag about it, doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to see. The Newark Museum contains a globally famous collection of Tibetan art. Morris Plains has The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms, dedicated to the man who brought the Arts and Crafts movement from Europe to America. Clinton is the home of the Hunterdon Art Museum, which has a strong interest in works on paper, along with an outstanding educational program for children and adults. Finally, Hamilton Township has Grounds For Sculpture, an astonishing collection of modern and contemporary art. Click on the ‘Arts Outside NYC’ tab to plan a visit to any of these institutions – it will definitely expand your thinking on what New Jersey is all about.
