Selecting the best of New York City’s arts scene

This week we have a review of The Museum of Arts and Design’s show Vera Paints A Scarf: The Art and Design of Vera Neumann. The exhibit is an excellent introduction to a woman who created affordable fashion accessories and home goods that distilled the ideals of mid-20th century design without pretension. Going through the galleries, we were impressed to see how little of the items looked dated (although some of the color combinations are not quite in fashion right now), proving once again that good design is timeless. Head on over to Columbus Circle to see for yourself!
